2 Sep 1915 - Charles L. Lackey, son of Sanford and Jane Lackey, was born in Cambridge City, January 27, 1853, and passed away suddenly August 25, 1915, at the age of 62 years past. For more than fifteen year he had been a sufferer from kidney and other ailments, but with it all has ever been content and jovial, and made the best of his long life. While he has been engaged in several kinds of business, his principal vocation was dealing in horses, as was that of his father and his brother, John S. Lackey. His whole life was spent in this place and his circle of friends was large. For the past few months he had been confined to his bed with paralysis. Those of his immediate relatives who survive him are his daughter Lillian, two sisters, Mrs. Ayler and Mrs. Mosbaugh , and two brothers, Frank and Park Lackey. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stearns at the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon and was largely attended. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment in the family lot at Riverside.
