From notes by a Kendall family historian: "Charles was born at Onehunga on 25 June 1866 - baptised by the Reverend A.G. Purchas at St Peter's Church on 5th August 1866. His fathers occupation was given as Labourer. Nothing is known of this child and it is presumed he died in infancy. However no date of death has been found."
