The Gillum line is more difficult. Lots of people say that William Gillum was Charles' father but I have never in all my years found any proof. I had talked to a Great Aunt years ago and she told me Charles was very Indian and was from Oklahoma, that he was a carpenter and a shoemaker and he helped build Breathitt. I have seen various places as his origin, SC TN VA KY. I have visited the graveyard where they are buried. I have found no death certificate for him though I know he died after 1920.
