    (51) i Amanda Elizabeth McCue, b 12, Jan. 1801, Augusta county, Va., d 29, Sept. 1829 ; m 28 Dec. 1820, Gen. Charles P. Dorman of Rockbridge county, Va. Amanda McCue was a favorite of the family, was well educated and a brilliant conversationalist.

    Gen. Dorman was a prominent and influential lawyer of Lexington, Va. He graduated at Washington College in 1814, was a member of the Virginia Legislature for thirteen years, and later was a member of Congress. He served as Adjutant in the War of 1812. His death occurred 20, Dec. 1849. Gen. Dorman 's father was educated in Ireland for a Catholic Priest, but did not follow this training.
