19 Jan 1721 This indenture made this nineteenth day of January in the eight year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God & Great Brittain, France and Ireland, King... Between Ephraim Aug. Herman of Cecil County in the Province of Maryland of the one part and John Simmons of the same Place, Planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Herman for and in Consideration of the Yearly Rents and Services herein after mentioned have devised Lessed and to farm lett and sell unto the said John Simmons a tenement of Land being a vacancy Between Will Sinklar's land and William Thomas dec'd. lands, Charles Dermott and Dermott and Robert Veazey's Land and Richard Taylor's land and binding on Elk River only excepting out of Seventy eight acres of Land of the said vancancy allready Leised unto Martin Nicolus.... for the natural life of the said John Simmons and during the natural life of his now wife Rebecca during the natural life of his son William Simmons he the said John Simmons' his heirs and Exors.and admrs.
