Dailey followed the blacksmith business in Leo, Cedar Creek township, from 1892 to 1915, when he retired from active labors and settled down to a life of comparative ease. He was born in Cedar Creek Township on July 1, 1867, son of Samuel and Mary (McCrory) Dailey, both of Pennsylvania birth . . . . Mr. Dailey stayed on the home farm up to the age of twenty-five, when he went to St. Joe, Indiana, and there learned the trade of a blacksmith. He worked there for two years, then returned to Allen County and, settling in Leo, built and equipped a modern blacksmith shop, which he operated with all success until he retired in 1915. . . . Mr. Dailey is a Democrat, active in local politics, and was one of the township trustees from 1908 to 1916. He is a Mason and member of the Eastern Star, his wife also having membership in that branch of Masonry.” References
