    Charles E. "Chuck" Childress, Sr., 34. of Rt. 1, Thorntown. Indiana, died suddenly October 8. 1978 in Thornton. He was born in Boone Co., Indiana on November 7,1943, the son of Mrs. Zelma Miller Bullock and the late George Grover Childress.

    Survivors besides his mother, are: one daughter, Tammy Childress of Advance, Indiana: three sons, Charles E., Jr., Michael Shane and Jason Allen Childress, all at home; one brother, James N. Childress of Lebanon. Indiana; one sister. Mrs. Lois Hughes of Chattanooga. Tenn.: his grandmother, Mrs; Delia Miller of Mt.-Vernon. He was preceded -in death by his father, George Grover Childress and his wife, Debra Osborne Childress.
