Obituary, Burlington Free Press: SWANTON - Charles G. Boomhower, 85, died unexpectedly Sunday in Largo, Fla., where he had made his home for the past 15 years. A resident of the Swanton area prior to his move to Florida, Mr. Boomhower was a retired painter for the Central Vermont Railway. He was born in St. Albans on Dec. 5, 1889. He leaves three sons, Waldo of Seminole, Fla., Darwin of Clearwater, Fla., and Ronald of Albuquerque, N.M., three daughters, Mrs. Virginia L'Ecuyer and Mrs. Barbara Mercier of Plattsburgh, N.Y., 11 grandchildren, a half sister, Mrs. Frank (Daisy) Denning of St. Albans. Private funeral services were held in Largo, Fla. Interment will be in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Swanton. The 1920 census for Swanton, VT shows Charles' occupation as apprentice toolmaker, living with his wife Carrie, daughter Madelin(sic) age 5, son Waldo age 4yrs 6mos, son Darwin age 3yrs 4mos, and daughter Virginia age 1yr 2mos. In the 1910 census for St. Albans, Charles was living with Elisha Corrigan and Anna and was unmarried. References
