Obituary in Savannah News: Lt. Colonel Charles G. Blitch, Jr. - Altoona, FL -Lt. Colonel Charles G. Blitch, Jr., 88, passed away April 16, 2007 at Lakeview Terrace, Altoona. Lt. Colonel Blitch was born in Blitchton, GA and moved to Altoona one year ago from Orange City, FL. He was retired from the U. S. Army, World War II and had also worked in Bridge Administration for the Army Corp. of Engineers. He was a member of Chatham Artillery, Savannah, GA and enjoyed golf, and flying. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Anne M. Blitch; one son, Charles G. Blitch III, Orlando, FL; two daughters, Barbara Borowiec, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Sally Fattori, Jupiter, FL; one sister, Sara Blitch, Jupiter, FL, and three grandchildren. Graveside service with full military honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Augustine Memorial Park, Old Moultric Road, St. Augustine, Florida.
