CHARLES T. BENEDICT.
Maryville, Dec. 11 - Charles Truman Benedict was buried here Monday afternoon in Magnolia cemetery, He had made his home here until about a year ago when he moved to Conasauga, where he was engaged in the lumber business. At the time of his death he was connected with the Conasauga Lumber company. While he was in Maryville he was a member of New Providence Presbyterian church. He was stricken down with disease about one month ago and went to Knoxville for expert treatment where he died in the General hospital. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George Benedict, by two sisters, Mrs. Edith Jackson and Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, all of Maryville, and also by his wife and two little children. The funeral was conducted by his former pastor, Rev. Hubert S. Lyle. The music was by the M.E. church quartet, and Knights of Pythias attended in a body, and the service was concluded at the grave by the Masonic lodge. A very large crowd showed respect for his memory by attending the funeral service both at the house and at the grave. His wife will make her home in the future with her mother, Mrs. G.N. Gardner of 916 Berry Hill street, Nashville.
