- Funeral services for Charles M. Beal, 92, former Waterloo resident, recently of Washington, D.C., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Locke Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Wayne Overholser, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Mr. Beal died in Washington, D.C., Thursday morning of cancer. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. He was born in Waterloo June 13, 1877, the son of Jesse L. and Caroline Miller Beal. He married Orpha Berkley in 1900 [sic] and she preceded him in death in 1944. He married Ina Marie Vrendenburgh May 5, 1948, in Washington, D. C. Mr. Beal was in the real estate business in Washington, D.C. until his retirement in 1960. He is survived by his widow and two granddaughters. Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, four brothers and four sisters. Friends may call at Locke Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Friday. --“Charles M.
