BUCHANAN - Celeta C. "CC" Camburn of Buchanan passed away March 6, 2018, at Buchanan Meadows Assisted Living Center. She was a lifelong resident of Lenawee County until moving 10 years ago to be closer to her daughter.
Celeta was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Morenci, the daughter of Floyd and Alice (Crumrine) Donnelly. She married Richard M. "Cam" Camburn in Adrian on Feb. 16, 1941, by Presbyterian
minister George D. Prentise. Cam passed away Feb. 22, 1992.
She worked in several offices including Bancroft Cleaners, Morenci Art Display, Gerity Adrian and at the Norfolk Naval Base and the Pentagon during World War II.
Celeta graduated from Morenci High School in 1936. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Adrian since 1941. She was a member of the William C. Stark American Legion Auxillary Unit 97 and served in many aspects of the Unit since 1947. Also, a charter member of the Caban 917, charter member of the defunct Ladies Elks and a volunteer at Bixby Hospital for almost 33 years.
Celeta is survived by two children, Sally (William) A. Frame of South Bend, Ind., and John (Lynda) S. Camburn of Metamora, Mich., and Tucson, Ariz. Four grandchildren survive, Kristen E. Frame of Charlotte, N.C., Jeffrey W. Frame of Noblesville, Ind., Richard (Krista) M. Camburn of Leavenworth, Wash., and Todd S. Camburn of San Diego, Calif. She has five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Celeta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cam; and a daughter, Mary Jane in infancy.
