BURLINGTON — Mr. Cecil Elmo Shoe, 78, 4221 Kimesville Road, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday Jan. 15, 2000, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Edna S. Shoe, who survives and the son of Mr. A. Lee Shoe and Mrs.. Emily May Sharpe Shoe, both deceased. He was a parts manager for Coble Farm Equipment and served as a staff sergeant in the army during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he was active in the Lutheran Men’s Group and adult Sunday School class. Survivors other than his wife of the home include one daughter, Mrs.. Joan S. Wilson of Asheboro; a son, Mr. Craig S. Shoe of Somerset, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs.. Mabel S. Inge, Mrs.. Myrtle S. Inge and Mrs.. Barbara S. Saunders, all of Burlington, Mrs.. Christine S. Teague of Elon College and Mrs.. Evelyn S. Wheeley of Durham; one brother, Mr. John Shoe of Burlington; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Louis H. Shoe. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. W.N. “Bill” Hoss. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening and other times at the home.
