We have mutual ancestors. Charles Zorn Sidles father was John Daniel Sidles b. 1807 in Dauphin Co. PA d. Dec. 19. 1879 in Dakota, Stephenson Co., IL m. Catherine Zorn b.1805 in Berlin, PA d. Oct 25, 1895 m. March 26, 1828 They had nine children. Emeline M. b.Dec 22, 1828, Sarah b.Nov 22, 1830, Julianna b. 1833, Henry b.Aug 22, 1835, Charles Z., Franklin Aaron b. Apr 3, 1841, Rebecca b. July 16, 1844, Mary b.1846 and Daniel James, my GGrandfather, b.May 3 1850. The children were all born in PA. they moved to IL in 1853.

Note: Catharine Sidles was confirmed, and united with the German Reformed Church at the age of fourteen, was converted at a camp meeting in Somerset County, Pa., at the age of thirty, and united with the Evangelical Church, of which she remained a faithful member until the year 1875. There being no class of that church in Dakota, Ill., where she then lived, she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and has proved a consistent member of that church. She was united in the bonds of matrimony, March 26, 1828, at the age of twenty-two, to Daniel Sidles. They were blessed with nine children, all of whom survived their father, he being the first to break the ties of the family.
