    In the name of God, Amen. I Catherine Sakers of Howard County State of Maryland Being in feble health of Boddy and of Sound and disposing Mind Memory and understanding Considering the Certainty of death and the uncertainty of the ??? thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall pleas God to call me hence to therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to Say

    First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and by boddy to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named and after my debts and funeral charges are paid I bequeath as follows

    Item I give and devise unto my daughter Mary Ann Norton my house and Lot on wheon? I now dewll known by the Name of Rebecca's Lot or part of that tract containing about fifty five and one third square perches of land more or less to her the said Mary Ann Norton her heirs and assigns in fee simple

    Item 2nd I give and bequeath to Mary Ann Norton all my personal property that I now horses allso all the property that I am now or may hereafter be entitled to by Law or equity which may ac? to me by the Death of any Brother or Sister or otherwise to be hers and her heirs.

    I give and devise unto my Son William Sakers one dollar.

    I give and devise to my Son Samuel Sakers, one dollar.

    Item 4th I give and devise unto my Son David Sakers, one dollar.

    Item 5th I give and devise to James Young Son of James Young, one dollar.

    Item 6th I give and devise to Elizabeth Alice Saker, daughter of my Son Evan Sakers which is now dead, one dollar.

    And lastly I do hereby constitute and apoint William Allin to be Sole executor of this my last Will and testament ??king and annulling all former Wills heretofore made ??tifring and conferming this and non other to be my last Will and testament.

    In testimony whereof I have hereto Set my Name, and affixed my Seal this Sixth day of January one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight

    The 4th day of February 1862 came Charles W White one of the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and testament of Catherine Sakers late of Howard County deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almight God that he did see the testatrix therein named Sign and Seal this will that he heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of his apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that he together with Leander Burgep[ss] and Enoch S. Brown, the other subscribing witnesses respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence of the testatrix and all in the presence of each other.

    Catherine Sakers Codicil
    And whereas I did by my last will and testament dated on the Sixth day of January eighteen hundred and fifty eight constitute and appoint William Allen, the executor of my said Will and testament, now I do by this my codicil, will and direct that the said William Allen shall not by executor of my said Will and do hereby revoke my appointment of him as such and in her room and stead constitute and appoint William Hughes the sole executor of my last will and testament as fully and effectually as if he and no other person had been originally in and by my last will constituted and appointed executor thereof.

    In testimony whereof I do hereto set my hand and affix my Seal this thirtyth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and sixty.
