Catherine Parker was baptised on 18th April 1779 at Ashton under Hill, which was then in Gloucestershire, daughter of William Parker and his wife, Mary.
Catherine's next sighting is on 12th October 1805, aged 26, when she married a wheelwright called Robert Dingley at Sedgeberrow, just east of Ashton under Hill. Robert was a widower, with a four year old son from his first marriage. Catherine and Robert went on to have another six children together between 1806 and 1816. Their eldest was baptised at Sedgeberrow, whilst the others were all baptised at Cropthorne, with some of the baptisms at Cropthorne noting that the family lived in the hamlet of Charlton.
Robert died in 1836, aged 62.
The 1841 census finds Catherine and her daughter Mary working as servants to a John Dingley at Twyford House in Norton. That John appears to have been a cousin of Catherine's late husband Robert.
By 1851 Catherine had returned to Charlton in the parish of Cropthorne, living there with her son Francis and his family. Catherine was described as an agricultural labourer at this time.
Early in 1852, Catherine's son Edward died aged 44. His wife had already died and so his children were left orphans. Catherine took on the administration of Edward's estate, securing a grant of administration on 12th October 1852. However, she died herself within a few days of doing so. Catherine was buried at Cropthorne on 19th October 1852, aged 73.
