CATHERINE NORMAN was born in 1768. The 1768 birth date doesn't agree with the 1820 & 1822 birthdates for Abigail and Ethalen as Catherine would have been in her fifties. However, the 1850 Hardy County census for Catherine Orrowhood agrees with the 1768 birth date. She was born in 1768 at Virginia.

She married JOSHUA ORRAHUD, son of ALEXANDER ORRAHUD and ETHALEN MARTIN, circa 1788 at Hampshire County, Virginia. The date is estimated so that Catherine was 20. She appeared on the census of 1850 at Hardy County, Virginia.

She died on 4 Apr 1853 at Hardy County, Virginia. Her will was probated April 5, 1853. After Catherine's death, Dr. Gabriel BARBEE (executor of Joshua's will) sold the 150 acres and holdings at public auction to Snowden SCOTT. Dr. BARBEE purchased the remaining 139 acres for $400. The final settlement of the estate was recorded May 5, 1856 at a value of $1,221.085 and divided between five of the six daughters mentioned in the will.
