Obituary, sent by Morris and Pearl Maw, clipped from a newspaper, undocumented. "Catherine Lewis was born Jan. 8, 1845, Versailles Ripley Co., Ind. She moved with her parents to Putnam county Mo. in Sept. 1856 and on Nov. 2 1865 she was married to Henry Bridges. In the spring of 1871 Mr. and Mrs. Bridges came with their family to Colfax county, Nebr. and located on the homestead where the family still reside. On Monday morning Aug 4, 1902 Catherine Bridges passed out from this life to the more glorious life beyond. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bridges 17 children, 10 of which with the lonely husband still live to mourn for an absent wife and mother. Catherine Bridges was converted and united with the M. E. church when she was about 15 years old and continued all her life an earnest christian. At 11 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 5, 1902, loved ones and friends laid the tired body tenderly away in the family burying ground near Wilson church six mile south of Leigh. A large concourse of sympathizing neighbors and friends came in solumn procession assisting in these sad rites and listened with a hushed reverence to beautiful, comforting songs, and precious, hopeful promises from God's Book, and to the words of her pastor, Rev. W. G. Fowler from the text "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live; And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."---John 11-25;26."
