Catherine was buried in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetary, 2755 W. 111th St., Chicago, Ill 60655-1833 (773)238-3106. She lived at 7818 Merrill Ave., Chicago at time of death. Funeral Mass said at Our Lady of Peace Church, 79th and Jeffery.

She was known as "Kate". Also, at least in Detroit, she apparently used the surname of Johnson rather than Johnston(e) since it appeared in her marriage record and the baptismal record of Mary Elizabeth. Also, the marriage record and the 1860 Federal survey indicated she was 19 years old in 1860 which would mean she was born about 1840 rather than the 1846 shown on her DC.

Catherine's family apparently left Ireland around 1854 to immigrate to the US. Their impetus to immigrate was apparently caused by the Irish potato famine of the late 1840's.

The 1900 Federal Census indicated that she was born in May 1847 and was 53 years old which appears to be incorrect based on other sources. It also indicated that she had been in the USA 46 years and immigrated in 1834. The 1834 was an error since she was born later than 1834. Probably should have been 1854 to agree with the 46 yrs she was in the country.

Also the census spelling of her first name was Catharine rather than Catherine.
