    James [3] Duke, b 1675, d 1731, was the G.G. son of Richard Duke, b 1613, d after 1665.

    Richard was one of the first pilgrims arriving in Maryland in 1634, on the good ship Ark, with Governor Leonard Calvert. Catherine Duke’s descendants are entitled to join that ancient Society of the Ark and the Dove of Maryland.
