Robert DONALD of Mountblow was chr 22dec1724 and d. 22feb1803, aged 79, at Mountblow; he was buried at Ramshorn churchyard (Provosts of Glasgow, 1942). Robert was chr at Cardross, son of Jenat Cuming (Latter day saints). Robert was 2nd son of Thomas Donald of Lyleston and Janet Cumming of Baremman (Provosts). Robert married his cousin Catherine “Kate” DONALD (information J. Donald). Catherine (d. 1798) was probably daugher of John Donald, 2nd son of James Donald of Lyleston (Provosts of Glasgow, 1942). Robert, Virginia merchant and tobacco importer, was known as “of Mountblow” and was provost of Glasgow 1776-77.
