Name Catherine Diamond
Gender Female
Marriage to Peter Sweeney

Catherine Diamond lived at Castleconor in County Sligo, Ireland, and was married to an agricultural labourer named Peter Sweeney. Only one primary evidence sighting of her has been found; the baptism of her daughter Mary in 1835. Her husband Peter is also known to have been then tenant of 1.25 acres of arable land in the townland of Muingwore in Castleconor in 1833. Secondary evidence shows that Catherine and Peter also had at least two older sons named Michael and James Sweeney (both of whom later emigrated to south-west Scotland), but they were born before the Castleconor Catholic registers started in 1835. The registers did not start recording burials until 1856, whilst death certificates were not introduced in Ireland until 1864, and it seems likely that Catherine died before either of these dates as no plausible death or burial has been found for her.
