The 1870 Census shows a Catherine Corcoran, born in Ireland in 1845, living as a domestic servant in the home of William Tracy and William Lee, both lawyers. Next door is John Jacob Astor III (1822-1890), and his son, William. The 1869 City Directory shows John Jacob Astor living at 338 5th Avenue, and William Tracy at 326 5th Avenue. If this is our Catherine Corcoran before she married, perhaps she married in her home parish near 5th Avenue.
