In a letter from Mrs. Norbert V. Abner, Fremont, Ohio: Catherine Ash was born December 23, 1815 in Summerset [sic] County Pennsylvania and removed with her parents to Lower Sandusky in 1822. Was maried to Edmund D. Cooley October 25, 1835. On the stone at Briar Hill cemetery is the inscriptions: "Catherine, wife of E. O. Cooley, born December 25, 1815, Died November 27, 1880"
