Mrs Catherine Sullivan died on Saturday evening at her home at the corner of McAllister and Hanover Streets, after a brief illness, aged 60 years.
Mrs Sullivan was in good health until shortly after noon on Saturday, when she was seized with an attack of heart failure, which rendered her unconscious. Drs Alleman and Bittinger were summoned and did all in their power for her but she never regained consciousness and died at 7 p.m.
Deceased was the widow of the late David Sullivan, and the mother of twelve children: she was a daughter of the late George Zepp and wife of Carroll County, MD. Her husband died about 19 years ago, after they had been married for about 26 years. They lived in Carroll County, and five years ago Mrs Sullivan moved to Hanover, where she resided until the time of her death. The children who survive her are: C.E. Sullivan of McAllister Street, Noah L of Cranberry, Md, Andrew D of Uniontown, Md, Chester of Melrose, George of Bachmans Valley, Mrs Samuel Smith of Snydersburg, Md, Mrs Dsvid Jones of Manchester District, Md, Mrs E.A. Shanabrook of Penn Township, Mrs Samuel Sterner of Melrose, Mrs Jacob Tracy of Linboro, Md, and Misses Sadie and Bertha Sullivan at home. Three Brothers, George and Emanuel Zepp of Melrose and Henry Zepp of Bandana, and two sisters; Mrs Henry Houck and Mrs Eli Stegner of Bandana also survive her.
Funeral Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the house. Short services will be held by Rev M. J. Roth, after which the remains will be taken to Bachman's Church, Carroll County, Md, where further services will be held by Rev J.B. Stonesifer, and internment made.
