Catherine is listed in the will of her husband, John Fite (Johannes Vogt) written 5 Apr 1782, in Oxford, Sussex, New Jersey[1]. Her husband, John (Johannes) Fite's, will was written on 5 April 1782 and was proved 23 June 1784in Sussex County, New Jersey. The Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church has a record of "Catharine Elisabeth Feit, widow" as taking the Lord's Supper in 1784 (month and date not mentioned)[8]. "Catharina Feit, widow" is listed in the church records on 21 Oct 1787, the same date that Leonhard Feit and w. Margareth received a certificate "because of their journey to North Carolina"[5]. This might indicate that she traveled to North Carolina with her sons and the other family members who journeyed to North Carolina as there are no other Feit entries in the church book after that date. In Mrs. Fite's book she states that the family traveled to North Carolina "after the death of their parents", but offers no source for this information. The page from Christ Evangical Church indicates that she was alive on 21 Oct 1787, attending the Lord's Supper, and was alive on that date along with Leonhard and Margareth Feit[5].
