11 Jan 1632 – David Sempill presented a child to baptism “borne of his dochter Catharine Sempill, quhilk bairne scho said wes gottin in Ireland be ane unmareyit man callit Hary Wood,” baptized Janet; witnesses, John Walker, bailie, John Anderson, litster, John Anderson, doctor in the grammar school. “The said David Sempill was actit under the pane of 40 lib. to report ane testimonial betwixt and 14 day of February nixt from the kirk there of the father of the bairne, and bothe parties satisfactioun for their offence according to the ordour and discipline of the kirk.”
