Casimer was probably among a group of Henry County men who traveled west around 1870 to find available land. Upon his return to Henry County, he married Mary Abbie Hoppock in 1874 and moved to Fremont County, Iowa where he farmed.
He and Mary had two children in Fremont County before Mary died in 1884. Casimer then married Melissa Likes, who had also moved with her family from Henry County, IL, to Fremont County.
By 1900 he had moved to Osceola, Polk County, Nebraska where he ran a feed store. He and Melissa later moved to Gibbon, Buffalo County, Nebraska where they lived out their days. Melissa died in 1923, and Casimer in 1932 (at the home of his son in Overton, Dawson County). He and Melissa are buried in Gibbon.
