Facts and Events
In the 1900 Weld County, Colorado census Carrie is in Ft. Lupton living with a family as a servant. Her children have been farmed out, Forrest is living on the other side of town. Dist # 24 En. dist. # 195 sheet 7B. In the 1910 census Carrie is married to John Sankey, they have been married one year. It says she had three children, all still living. John is an engineer, she is at home (not working). In the tombstone inscription book it states she had a "Women of Woodcraft" emblem on her headstone. This just means that she and her husband, probably John Sankey, were members of the fraternity "Woodmen of the World", and probably had their life insurance. You were given an extra $100 if you allowed the emblem placed on the tombstone. You did not have to be a lumberjack, or the widow of one. References
