Carolyn passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2001, after a long battle with canc er at the age of 77. She was a 40 year resident of Lehman Ave. before movi ng to Inverness Mobile Home Park in Temperance, where she resided for 9 ye ars. She had spent the past 2 months with the caring staff of Harborside H ealth Care of Perrysburg and Heartland Hospice of Perrysburg. Carolyn, kno wn as "Granny" to her friends and family, worked for St. Vincent Medical C enter in the Dietary Dept. for 11 years before retiring in 1991. Granny en joyed auto racing, especially Nascar Winston Cup racing. On any given Sund ay, you could find her glued to the TV watching her favorite driver, #5 Te rry Labonte. She also enjoyed the outdoors, working in her flower garden a nd just being outside with friends and family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in February, 1971, a nd son, Jack, in April, 1971. She is survived by daughter, Mrs. Linda (Har ry) Faust, and son, Mr. Fred (Vickie) Ickes; grandchildren, Pamela, Danie l, Shawn, Edward, and Erika; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Hillary. Visitation will be held at David R Jasin Funeral Home, 5300 N Summit St. ( at 126th St.) Thursday, March 15, 2001, 2-8 p.m, with a Memorial servi ce at 8 p.m. Carolyn had asked in lieu of flowers, that a donation be ma de to the American Cancer Society. Final resting spot to be Ottawa Hills M emorial Park.
