Carol O. Matlock, 91, Chanute, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 16, 1910, on the family farm near Galesburg, the daughter of John "Jack" and Clara Neely Thompson.
The family moved to Chanute when she was 15 years old and she resided in Chanute the rest of her life.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Mathis Grocery Store.
She was a member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church.
She enjoyed her home and taking care of her family.
In 1931, she married Leslie O. Crumrine in Chanute. He died Sept. 14, 1946.
In 1953, she married John Mathis. He died in 1956.
On Jan. 19, 1957, she married Homer Matlock. He died in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannine Strack of Chanute; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar "Skinny" Thompson; and a sister, Mabel Blake.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel, led by Pastor Rodger Tyrrell. Graveside committal services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Yates Center Cemetery.
