Carl is often listed as the son of Ogden and Anna Mariah Gardner Ogden. But it is my belief (as well as others) that he is actually the son of Andrew Jackson Grove and Elizabeth Josephine Ogden Grove, and that he was born out of wedlock. They were later married, but he retained the Ogden name.
