Published: Sep 18, 2003 GOOD Carl M Jr ------ Carl M Good Jr, 85, of Port Clinton OH, died Tuesday, September 16, 20 03 at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1917 in Bloomdale OH to C arl M and Miriam (Simon) Good Sr On April 4, 1942 in NY City, he married M ary J Warburton, and she survives. Mr. Good was a member of St. Thomas Epi scopal Church, Port Clinton OH and a former member of Trinity Methodist C hurch, Bloomdale OH and St. Timothy Episcopal Church, Perrysburg OH. Ca rl graduated from high school in Bloomdale OH in 1934 and attended OH Wes leyan University, graduating in 1939 with a BA degree. He was a Lt. Comman der in the U.S Navy, participating in the D-Day invasion during WWII. Ca rl was the owner of L.R Good and Son grain elevators, manager of the Bloom dale Branch of Tri CO National Bank of Fostoria OH, officer of Huntingt on Banks, including manager of the Perrysburg OH branch of the Bank of Wo od CO and president of the Woodville BankWoodville OH. Carl retired at t he age of 62 in 1980. Carl and Mary spent their retirement winters at Pelican Point in Sebastian FL and their summers at their home on the lake in Port Clinton OH. He w as a member of the VFW of Fostoria OH and its award winning band, Perrysb urg Yacht Club, Catawba Island Club, Port Clinton Yacht Club, Kiwanis, Lio ns, Bloomdale OH Commercial Club, N Baltimore Blue Lodge, Fostoria Shri ne Club, Zenobia Shrine of Toledo. Survivors include wife, Mary (Warburton) Good of Port Clinton OH; sons, C arl (Wendy) Good III of Groton, MA and Gary (Karen) W Good of Port Clinto n OH; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in dea th by his parents and one grandchild. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2003 at the Gern er-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton OH. A Memorial Service w ill be conducted by Reverend Dawson Moorer at 10:00 A.M, Saturday, Septemb er 20, 2003 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton OH. Interment wi ll be in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Columbarium. In lieu of flower s, the family has asked that memorials be given to St. Thomas Episcopal Ch urch or Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice, 96 S Washington St., Tiffi n OH 44883. |
