Hi cousin, I would like a whole line back to Richard and Sarah. Thank you. I have been following the wrong Knight. Remember, I am very new at this. Oh boy! I can't find any listing for Shubeal in any of the censuses. Only a Joshua and I bet they were related. Calvin Knight married Lucretia Hamelton Damon on Dec. 25, 1842 in Lebanon, NY. She was born in Chesterfiield, Ma. on Dec. 12, 1823 and died in Whately Aug. 31, 1898. That was the year that my grandmother was born to Lizzie. Her father was Salma, and her mother's name was Hannah, Torry). She was their 5th daughter.

I think that is the complete list. Henry Winfield was in the Civil War. My grandmother, Ella Clark, remembers her mother, Lizzie, telling her about the time that her brother, Henry, came home from the war. Lizzie remembered him walking down the dirt road to the house. He had some kind of malady that he contracted during the war and died a few years after that. Mel was my grandmother's favorite aunt.

I wish I knew when the sheets that I have were written. They were for my grandmother and she was listed as Ms. Ella Clark so it probably was prior to 1919.

James, that was burned. He bought the place in 1865, or thereabouts, and two of his children were born there. Since he died the place has been bought by Charles H. Field, son of Paul W.
