He also purchased 150 acres on the south side of Cypress Creek from Henry Lamb in July 1760, and another 100 acres on the west side of Perquimans River from Moses and Benjamin Wilson in July of 1772. Both Caleb and his wife were very active in the Society of Friends, both serving as elders for a number of years. His name is noted as witness of executor or a dovoder of an estate on a number of Perquimans County wills. In Nov. of 1778, a petition was forwarded to Co. Thos. Harvey relative to Joseph Newby, and also for army exemption for a number of Quakers, including Caleb himself. On the same date, Caleb White, Thomas Knox, and Thomas Newby were appointed to deliver a petition to the Governor. References
