Eastland, Texas - Burma Lee Bradford, age 88, of Eastland, passed away on September 12, 2007, at Eastland Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 15, 2007, at 10 a.m. in the Summers-Bakker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastland Cemetery with Rev. Jim Andrews officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Burma was born March 15, 1919, to Lee and Ethel (Miller) Harrison in Stephens County. She grew up in LaCassa and graduated from Caddo High School. Burma married Bennett 'Howard' Bradford in Ranger on June 13, 1937. They moved to Eastland in the 1950s. Burma and Howard were blessed with over 57 years of marriage before he passed away in October of 1994.
Burma was a housewife. She previously had worked at Hollywood Vasserette, Beals Drapery, Perry's Department Store and Valley View Health Care Center. Burma attended Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland until her health started to fail.
Burma loved all people. She loved her neighbors and loved to visit and talk with everyone she met. Most of all, she loved her family dearly, especially her three grandsons.
Burma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard; and three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by: her two daughters, Janice Harris and her husband, Gary of Waxahachie, and Nita Merritt and her husband, Ardie of Eastland; her grandsons, Randall Harris of Springfield, VA, Joshua Merritt and Jason Merritt both of Eastland; her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Liz Harrison of Cisco; her sister-in-law, Pebble Harrison of Eastland; her brother-in-law, Don Bradford of Ranger; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
