In the name of God Amen. I Groves Howard of The County of Granville & State of North Carolina being of sound mind and Memory but calling to mind & considering the Unsertainty of this Transitory life, and Knowing That it is appointed for all men once to die do make, Publish & Declare, this my Last Will and Testament In Manner and form as follows (To Wit) first of all I Recomend my Soul into the hands of the Almighty God who gave it & my body to the Earth to be buried at the Descretion of my Executors hereafter named Not Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God who gave it and as to My Worldly Estate I give and bequeath as follows:

Imprimis I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Lucy Howard Two Negroes by the Name of Zeney & Tom one bed & furniture & Two Cows & Calves.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Isebelle Howard Two Negroes by the Name of Aggey & Dick one bed & furniture & Two Cows & Calves.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Allen Howard five shillings Currency. Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Mark five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Littleton five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Barnett five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Broadie five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Sary Hunt five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Milley Allen five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Frances Cozart five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Ellinor five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Cozart five shillings. Item. I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Margaret Webb five shillings.

Item. my will & pleasure is that the Balance of Negroes, Lands with all the Resedue of my Property that is not will'd away is to Remain with my Wife Hannah Endouring her Natural life or until the Last of my Daughters marreys, then for to be sold & Equally Divided Between all my Daughters. Item. And Lastly I do hereby Constitute ponominate and appoint Barnett Howard and James Cozart Executors of this my Last Will & Testament Hereby Revokeing all former Wills heretofore made in witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 12th day of May 1804.

State of No. Carolina Granville County February Court AD 1807 The foregoing last Will & Testament of Groves Howard dec'd was duly proven in open Court by the Oaths of Charles Shearman & Daniel Tucker subscribing Witnesses thereto & ordered to be Recorded - and at the same time came Barnett Howard & James Cozart and qualified as Executors to the said Will.
