Yes, my g-grandfather Luke Padian married Brigid Beirne on Friday March 6, 1896. I spelled her name Brigid because that is how it appears on the marriage cert. The witnesses were Michael Padian and Ellen Beirne. They were married at the Catholic Chapel of Kilglass in the district of Rooskey.

Re: Maria - "She was born about 1859 in County Roscommon, Ireland, near Scramogue and the city of Roscommon, in a small white stone cottage with a thatched roof that I saw in 1963. Her sister, Aunt Bea, was alive then and about 99 and lived near Scramogue. Dad looked like his mother, I have heard. Mary Cox (her niece) told me she came here when she ws about 14 (to Clearfield) and worked as a maid in a hotel." (more about her in between) "...She must have come from a big family - had at least two sisters, Bea and Maggie, and three or four brothers, probably Jim, Pat, Mike, and Owen. I met an old Uncle Pat and an Uncle Mike when I was a child. One worked in a tannery and I saw him there throwing hides down from a high bin. I believe Owen may be the one who was a contractor, helped to build the Brooklyn Bridge, made money, went back to Ireland, ws willing to send Dad to college. Uncle Jim lived in Philadelphia, wrote us often, changed name to Byrnes."
