XIV. Sir Bryce Blair of that ilk, who, when a young man, had the honor of knighthood conferred upon him by King Charles I. and served and retoured heir to his father Bryce, in the whole lands and barony of Blair, 25th April 1639.
He married ____, daughter of _____, by whom he had only one son,
John XV., his heir.
He survived his father only a few months, died in July 1639, and was succeeded by his only son, John Blair XV.

Sir Bryce Blair, of Blair, afterwards knighted by Charles I., married in 1618 Marian, daughter of Walter Dundas, of Dundas. His son John XV., died without issue, and was succeded by his uncle John Blair XIV., who married Lady Jean Cunningham, daughter of William Cunningham, eighth Earl of Glencairn, and dying in 1662, was succeeded by his son, William Blair, of Blair.

Bryce Blair of Blair, the second son, married Annabell Wallace, and had two sons and five daughters, the latter of whom were all well married. He died 4th February 1639, and was succeeded by his elder twin-son, Sir Bryce Blair, who was knighted by Charles the First. He married, in 1618, Marian, daughter of Walter Dundas of Dundas, and died a few months after his father. He was succeeded by his son, John Blair, who died soon after without issue, and was succeeded by his uncle, John Blair, who married Lady Jean Cunningham, daughter of William eighth earl of Glencairn, and dying 1662, was succeeded by his son, William Blair of Blair. This gentleman was named by the restoration government of Scotland a member of the Commission in Ayshire for holding courts on the Covenanters, but he early joined the Revolution party, and was a member of the Convention of estates 16th March 1689, and on of the committee for settling the government. Having raised a troup of horse in support of King William, he marched with it into Perthshire. Information of this having reached the Viscount Dundee, then in arms in Athol for King James, he determined to surprise them, and accordingly he left Athol, and proceeded with celerity during the night towards Perth, which city be entered unaware early next morning, and seized both the laird of Blair and the laird of Pollock, who was with him, and two other officers, in their beds, and carried them off prisoners to the Highlands where the laird of Blair died very soon after. He had married Lady Margaret Hamilton, fourth daughter of William second duke of Hamilton, and was succeded by his son,S4

    XIV. Sir Bryce Blair of that Ilk, who had the honour of Knighthood conferred on him by Charles I. He survived his father only a few months, dying in July the same year. He married, in 1618, Marian, daughter of Sir Walter Dundas of Dundas, by his second marriage with Anne, daughter of Monteith of Carse, and had with her a tocher of L10,000 Scots; while, by the contract, the estate of Blair was provided to their issue: she was also life-rented in the property, excepting Barrodger and part of Bogtoun, which Dame Isabel Boyd, relict of John Blair younger, held as her jointure, and which she continued to enjoy for a pretty long period, as she was living in 1641, when, in a curious process before Parliament, Francis Hamilton of Silvertonhill, a wrong-headed man, accused her of having bewitched him.
