DOWNEY, BRIAN E. - The death of Brian Edward Downey of King Square South, husband of Rita Boucher, occurred on Friday June 4, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Ron E. and Barb F. (Mowatt) Downey. Brian was employed with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as a constable for twenty-five years until his retirement. A member of FESNA, also enjoyed trains and spending time with his best friend and companion Skye. Besides his wife, he is survived by one stepson Tim (Noreen) Spears of Deep River, Ontario, one stepdaughter Kim (Andy) Sheridan of Charlottetown, PEI, one brother Gary (Sandy) Downey of Edmonton, Alberta, one sister Brenda (David) Aiton of Charlottetown, PEI, "Grampy Teddy Bear" will be sadly missed by his five grandchildren Jessica, Emalee, Courtney, Dylan and Brycen, special nieces Krista and Karen, grand-niece Emily, several nieces and nephews. By request there will be no funeral home visiting. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 1:00 pm from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506-634-7424). Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation. www.brenansfh.com
