    L. Brewster Lawrence, a well known and highly respected Roman, died at 8 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John McIntosh, 123 East Embargo street. He had been in failing health for some time, death being due in a general breaking down caused by advanced age. Mr. Brewster was born in Frankfort, December 19, 1836, a son of Jasel and Philiinda Lawrence. He moved to Watson , Lewis County in the early 60's engaging in business there in a general store. He was also engaged at one time in business in Utica. For the past 30 years he made his home in this city. He was married in Lewis County, August 25, 1860 to Sophia A. Green, who died in this city nine years ago last February. He is survived by two children, Willard M. Lawrence of Watertown and Mrs. McIntosh, with whom he had made his home since the death of his wife. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Verona. Mr. Lawrence was a man of strongest character, upright in his transactions and kind and affectionate in his home circle. His death will be mourned by many who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. The funeral will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John McIntosh, 123 East Embargo street at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be made at Churchville.
