  Bradley J. Knight. The subject of this sketch is in his 30th year, having been born in Lynville Township, on May 29, 1856. He received in his boyhood a good common-school education, which was supplemented by a course at the Rock River Seminary, at Mt. Morris. During the year in which he attained his majority he began farming on his own account, remaining at home up to about two years ago when he purchased 200 acres of land in Flagg Township, where he has since resided, his farm being located on section 21; nearly the whole of his acreage in under cultivation. Mr. Knight is a son of Joshua A. and Achsah J. (Davis) Knight, who are natives of New York State. They came to Ogle County 30 years ago, settling in the township where the subject of our sketch was born and where his father died on the 2d of April. 1883; his mother is still living, and resides on the homestead. Their family consisted of six children- Alma L., Bradford A., Bradley J., Herbert T., Addison J., and Achsah J.
  Our subject was united in marriage Feb. 17, 1881 to Mary  A. Litch, the daughter of George H. and Frances (Austin) Litch, natives of Vermont, in Orange County of which State she was born, on June 29, 1854. Three children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Knight-Frances M., Edna B. and George A. Mr. Knight has held the offices of Constable and School Director, and when he casts his vote it is always in support of Republican principles.
