Braddock and his family are recorded on page 40 of the 1790 Rhode Island Census, Washington Co., Charlestown Township. The family appears to have migrated from Charlestown, Rhode Island to Rensselaer Co, NY in about 1802. Braddock's first wife Rebecca died in 1803 and he then married her younger sister Silence.

He later became Captain of First Company of Charlestown, Rhode Island in l797. He Moved to Petersburg, N.Y. in 1802. His Father's name was Abel Peckham. Son by his 1st wife, 'Lodowick,' born in 1801, died 1880: his mother is said to be buried at the foot of Petersburg Mountain, Petersburg, N.Y
