- ↑ Turner, Widely Known In City Killed . Two-Vehicle Wreck Near Bowling Green Fatal To 1927 Grad
Boyd Maxwell Turner, 48; Delta, O., and formerly a Fremont resident. was killed instantly in an automobile and truck crash Route 3 three and one-tenth mile west of Bowling Green at Liberty High Toad. The accident happened Thursday at 1:05 a.m.
Mr. Turner. was driving north on Liberty High road and failed to stop for a safety stop sign, his car crashing into the side of a tractor- trailer operated by Herman Warner, 33, Coldwater, Mich., Route 2, according to Patrolman G.E. Whittier of the Perrysburg post. at the state high- way patrol.
His auto was demolished the side of the trailer,. a refrigerated unit, was extensively damaged. Turner suffered a skull fracture, leg fractures and other injuries.
Native of Utica, O., and born August 8, 1908. Turner moved to Delta five years ago from Fremont. He operated a restaurant here at west State street and Rawson avenue, now known as the radio Diner. He was a member of Blue Lodge of Masons, of Fremont, and of Order of Eastern Star at Delta.

Mr. Turner and his wife, Verna May attended the class of 1927 reunion of Fremont high School here Saturday. He was given an award for being the member with the most children an grand- children.
A salesman he had been employed by Goggan's Wholesale company, Napoleon, a candy and cigar distributing firm, for the last five years.
The body will be moved from Penrod mortuary, Delta, Saturday morning to Weller-Wonderly mortuary here. Friends may call at the local funeral home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Mon- day at Calvary temple, Fremont. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The Rev. Forest Anderson will officiate.
Mr. Turner is survived by his widow, Verna May; his mother Mrs. Joseph Turner, Ballville, four sons, Roger W. and Lyman of Kent, O., David L., Cleveland and Norbert, Delta; three daughters Jo Ann, Carolyn, and Martha, also Delta; two brothers, William and Joseph of Fremont, seven grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Baughman, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Helen Mead and Mrs. Margie Kraft, both of Fremont, and Mrs. Lillian Jacobs, Wauseon, O.
He was preceded in death by his father, a son and a sister.
