Ben was a musician and played the Sax in jazz bands in the 40s, 50s and 60s. He played in the first jazz band to play in La Scala in Spain.

Ben married Helen. He gave up jazz and ran a pub in St Johns Wood, London. In the 1970’s he also ran a pub called the ‘Lemon Tree’ in the West End of London and then immigrated to Spain and ran bars in Spain.

Ben and Helen had one daughter, Hazel, who had a son Robert in the early 60's.
