BLANCHE HEME SALTER PHARR - Blanche Heme Salter, 89, was born in Meadville, PA on February 25, 1920 to Florence Peterson and Frank Yocum, the youngest of five children. She went to be with her Lord August 24, 2009. Blanche was married to Andrew Heme from 1939 to 1983 and Leo Salter 1987 to 2001. She had lived in the Valley for 67 years. Blanche is survived by two daughters, Andrea Hamm of Magnolia, TX and Sandy Theser of Kerrville, TX; two step-children, John and Sandra Salter; brother-in-law, Loren Salter; grandchildren, Charlene Golden, Charlote Hopkins, Brandon Theser; numerous great grandchildren; and many dear friends and her special care giver Alma. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Gertrude Emig, Fran Beuchat, Edna Smith and Louise Yeager; both husbands; son, Walter L. Heme; son-in-law, Charles E. Hamm; and granddaughter Coleen A. Theser. Blanche had been a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church of McAllen for many years before moving to Magnolia. She worked for First National Bank in Mission until she was disabled and she was a member of American Legion, Post 101 in Pharr, TX. She was a homemaker, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday August 28, 2009 at Kreidler Memorial Chapel, 4000 N.
