Deed of Gift, Adair Co., KY. Hughes to Patterson, Vol. B, pg. 396.
For Value received I Blackmore Hughs of Adair County do by these presents bargain Sell & legally convey to Nancy Hughs Patterson and Mary Patterson the infant Daughters of Mr. John Patterson by his first wife. Jointly One negro Girl named Lucy being about Eleven Years of age with her increase Forever to the Sale use and behoof of the said Nancy & Mary & their Heirs forever And the said Blackmore Hughe do bind myself my Heirs & c. to warrant & Defend the title of said Negro Girl to the said Nancy H. & Mary Patterson as secure and inviolate to them & their Heirs forever. Given under my hand this 28th day of March in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eithe Hundred & Ten.
