    Billie Jones Wingo, age 87, of Silver Creek passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 3, 2008.
    Born in Newport, AK on June 24, 1921, he was the son of Burley & Bessie Polk Wingo. He was a member of the Old Silver Creek Baptist Church. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and retired after serving twenty years. He was also a veteran of World War II.
    Billie is survived by his wife, Alagene Fortenberry Wingo; daughters, Wanda Sandifer and husband, Keith of Cleveland, TN and Patti Manning of Columbus, MS; one grandchild, Elizabeth Anne Sandifer of Cleveland, TN; and a sister, Barbara Pritchard of Melbourne, FL.
    He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Burley M. Wingo, Jr. and Bennie L. Wingo; and a sister, Susan Wingo.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Old Silver Creek Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Old Silver Creek Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss is in charge of arrangements.
