Mrs. Billie Grunden, 84, a lifelong resident of Erie and currently a resident of Delray Beach, Fla., died Monday, January 23, 2006 at her home in Delray. She was born in Erie February 25, 1921, a daughter of the late A. Alling and Helen Pole Reeves. She graduated from Mercyhurst Prep and attended Arlington Hall Prep School and College in Arlington, Va. She was a member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul, a former member of the Junior League of Erie, and a member of the Kahkwa Club, Aviation Club, Erie Yacht Club and Erie Maennerchor Club Auxiliary. She received a state award for her many volunteer hours working in the physical therapy department at the Erie Crippled Children’s Society, now known as the Achievement Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Parks Grunden, in 1989; and a daughter, JoAnne Grunden Felbinger in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Grunden Davis and her husband Morton Davis, Sarasota, Fla.; a son, John Parks Grunden, Jr., and his wife Penny Vogt Grunden, Little Torch Key, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
