Our cousin Beverly Beal Williams near Spokane developed pneumonia and lung infection in Mid-August. She has had a tracheotomy, feeding tube and a breathing maching most of the time since. She had improved some but so slowly. She left us about ten minutes before midnight on October 10. She and Aunt Florence BOTH left us on the same day. Beverly's funeral will be next Monday in Ritzville, WA., near where they lived on a wheat ranch. Of course, I am much too old to even think of going that far anymore. She is the last of Uncle Jesse's and Aunt Clara's family. Our relatives are getting to be fewer and fewer as time goes along. We Beals still have a cousin and family there on Dad's side.

Beverly L. Williams of Cusick, Washington passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at a Post Falls, Idaho hospital, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Jesse L. and Clara Morgan Beal, Beverly was born April 25, 1925 at Round Lake, Minnesota. She moved with her family to Spokane in 1942 and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1943. She worked at the PX at Fort George Wright and after World War II attended Kinman Business College. She then moved to Valdez, Alaska with her father and worked three years as a bookkeeper for Alaska Freight Lines. She moved back to Spokane and worked for an insurance agency. Beverly loved bowling and snow skiing and it was on a skiing trip that she was introduced by Kenny and Dorothea Foulkes, to Jackson L. Williams. They married January 26, 1963. Together they farmed and raised their family on the Williams Ranch, in the Sandhills south of Lind, Washington. After her husbands' death in September of 1976, Beverly remained on the farm until her children graduated from Lind High School. She moved to their property at Cusick, Washing in February of 1985. She was a member of the Lind Methodist Church and the Cusick Community Church; the Washington Wheat Growers Association, the Sandhills Grange and Secretary Treasurer for Pend Orielle County Fire District #5 for ten years. She is survived by her daughter Paula Marie Williams and son Curtis J. (Michele) Williams; two grandchildren, Spencer C. and Morgan E. Williams all of Spokane. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Danekas Funeral Home Chapel in Ritzville, Washington, with Pastor Alan Jones of Cusick officiating. Concluding services and vault internment will follow at the Delight Cemetery, Lind, Washington. The family suggest memorial contributions be given to either the Pend Orielle County Fire District #5 or to the Humane Society of Spokane.
